Adjusting the luggage

We went to Kashid beach this weekend. On the way there, we took a route via Mulshi / Tamhini. There were 9 people in the Scorpio, so we had to put all the luggage on top. Halfway through, it started raining and I had to stop and ensure that everything was properly protected from the rain.day afternoon.

Arsh playing in the muddy rainwater during our weekend getaway at Nilshi near Lonavala. In general, he is rather grumpy during such vacations, insisting that he wants to go back home to Pune. But this time was much better - partly due to this puddle.

I took this photo of the Lingaraj temple in Bhubaneshwar when we visited it in December. The same scene greeted us everywhere we went - including Puri, Konark. Beautiful temples framed by scaffolding.

Amazon girl with baby alligator

Just remembered this neat photograph of a girl holding a baby alligator in the Amazon river. This was apparently a livelyhood for her - she poses for tourists with the baby alligator and then charges them money for taking photographs.

An anonymous commenter points out that this is really a Caiman and not an alligator. True; “Real” alligators exist only in North America and China. But based on the Wikipedia entry on this subject, it appears to me that it is OK to refer to them as “alligators” for normal (non-scientific) usage. So I am going to leave the title unchanged.
